1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how PropertyMate ("we", "our", or "the app"), developed by Crazy Developer, handles data, permissions, and user privacy when you use our mobile application downloaded from the Google Play Store.

2. Information Collection and Processing

Unlike cloud-based management software, PropertyMate operates completely offline. All data you enter into the application remains under your exclusive physical possession:

• Landlord & Profile Details: Your name, estate or business name, contact phone number, and address are stored locally in the app's database.
• Properties & Units: Property addresses, building names, unit numbers, default rent, and deposit expectations are stored locally.
• Tenant Data & KYC Attachments: Tenant names, phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, lease dates, and captured tenant identification photos remain in the app's sandboxed private storage.
• Rent Ledger & Cashflow Records: Monthly rental dues, recorded payment modes (Cash, UPI, Bank Transfer), transaction reference numbers, and property maintenance expenses are computed and stored entirely on-device.
• No Cloud Backend: We do not operate an external server infrastructure. Your real estate and tenant data is never transmitted over the internet to our servers because we do not have any servers to receive it.

3. Android Device Permissions & Why We Need Them

PropertyMate requests only the permissions strictly required to provide its core offline property management functionality:

• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA - Optional): Used solely if you choose to take photos of rental units, property damages, or tenant KYC identity proofs directly within the app. Captured photos remain in your device's private app directory.
• Biometric Sensor (android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC - Optional): Used to provide the optional "Biometric App Lock" feature, protecting access to PropertyMate using your fingerprint or face recognition. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by the Android Operating System's Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). PropertyMate never accesses, processes, or stores your biometric data.
• Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS - Optional): Required on Android 13 (API level 33) and above to display local reminder alerts for upcoming rent due dates, overdue tenants, and expiring lease agreements.
• Exact Alarms (android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used by Android's WorkManager and AlarmManager to schedule precise local notifications and restore rent reminders after a device reboot.
• Storage & Storage Access Framework (SAF): When you export PDF financial statements, rent receipts, or create a JSON data backup, PropertyMate uses Android's native system file picker to save files to the destination you choose.

4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

To support ongoing development and keep PropertyMate accessible, we display advertisements provided by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google AdMob is the only third-party SDK integrated into the application:

• Ad Formats: The app may display Banner ads, Interstitial ads, and Native Advanced ads provided by Google AdMob.
• Data Collected by Google: AdMob may collect and process anonymous device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / GAID), coarse location data derived from IP addresses, app performance metrics, and interaction data to serve ads, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable laws.

• Zero Access to Property Data: Google AdMob and third-party advertisers have absolutely zero access to your properties, units, tenants, rent amounts, financial statements, or attached documents.
• Opting Out of Personalized Ads: You can manage or reset your advertising identifier and opt out of personalized ads at any time through your Android device settings:
  Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID or Delete Advertising ID.

5. Communications (WhatsApp Reminders)

PropertyMate provides a convenient shortcut to send payment reminders to tenants via WhatsApp. When you tap the WhatsApp reminder button, PropertyMate creates a pre-formatted draft message and opens the official WhatsApp application installed on your device using Android's standard Intent.ACTION_VIEW. PropertyMate does not read your WhatsApp contacts, chat histories, or incoming/outgoing messages.

6. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion Policy

In accordance with Google Play's User Data policy, you retain complete ownership and sovereignty over your data:

• Data Retention: Your records remain on your device for as long as PropertyMate remains installed, or until you choose to delete them.
• Manual Local Backup & Restore: You can export a full backup of your properties, tenants, and ledgers to a local JSON file at any time via More > Backup Data. Backups are stored in your selected local folder and can be restored whenever needed.
• Data Deletion:
  • Deleting individual properties, units, tenants, or expenses from within the app permanently removes them from the local database immediately.
  • Uninstalling PropertyMate or clearing its storage in Android Settings > Apps > PropertyMate > Clear Storage permanently and irrevocably deletes all database records and attached files from your device.

7. Security

We take the protection of your offline records seriously:

• Data is stored in Android's application-private internal sandboxed directory, preventing other apps from accessing your database.
• You can enable the built-in Biometric App Lock to prevent unauthorized physical access to your records on your device.
• Exported PDF reports and receipts are shared using Android's secure FileProvider with temporary, read-only content URIs.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

PropertyMate is a tool intended for adult property managers, landlords, and real estate owners. It is not directed toward children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly solicit or collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect application improvements or legal updates. Any modifications will be posted to this page with a revised "Effective Date" at the top.
